MASTER OF SCIENCE PROGRAM

The M.S. Program in Chemistry is comprised of eight graduate courses (minimum of 24 credits), a graduate seminar course (CHEM 579), an M.S. seminar (CHEM 591) and an M.S. thesis to be completed in accordance with the regulations of the Institute of Graduate Studies in Science and Engineering. Advanced Organic Chemistry (CHEM 511) and Advanced Physical Chemistry (CHEM 512) are the two required courses for this program. Two of the remaining six courses may be taken from graduate courses offered by other departments with the permission of the graduate advisor.

DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY PROGRAM

The Ph.D. Program in Chemistry consists of seven graduate courses (minimum 21 credits), a qualifying examination, a thesis proposal, a Current Research Assessment course (CHEM 601) and a Ph.D. thesis to be completed in accordance with the regulations of the Institute of Graduate Studies in Science and Engineering. A maximum of two courses may be taken from the graduate courses offered by other departments with the permission of the graduate advisor.
